Opera stars shine in two candlelit cabarets

Cincinnati Opera artists take to the cabaret stage in these intimate, candlelit performances at Music Hall’s Wilks Studio. Each 90-minute performance includes musical selections that span a variety of genres. On July 12th, come experience mezzo-soprano Emily Fons, who brings her powerhouse vocals straight from her role as Rosina in The Barber of Seville over to the cabaret stage. And on July 19th, take an electrifying ride through the passions of Orpheus in a house music + opera mashup with baritone Nmon Ford before his appearance as Sharpless in Madame Butterfly. Get ready for two unforgettable nights of sound and splendor with our stars!

Nmon Ford, described as “matinee-idol handsome, with a rich and supple baritone capable of both power and subtlety” (The Hollywood Reporter), brings us his own take on the love story of Orpheus and Euridice told through memories, dreams, and nightmares. The program includes excerpts from the house music opera, House of Orfeus, written by Nmon and featuring guest narrator Evans Mirageas.
