cincinnati opera 101

If your only exposure to opera has been Bugs Bunny, Pretty Woman, Stranger Things, Bridgerton, or Queen Charlotte—or even if you have more experience but want a deeper dive to enhance your opera appreciation—this is for YOU!

Cincinnati Opera 101 gives you a taste of opera through a brief overview and a guided opera experience in a social setting, with a member of the Cincinnati Opera artistic staff as your personal opera coach. Watch Act I together as it’s livestreamed into Music Hall’s cozy Taft Suite. Enjoy a drink (the first one’s on us!), listen to commentary, and ask questions as you go—all in a chill environment. After Act I, if you want to stick around to see how things play out, you’re welcome to take a seat inside the auditorium and experience more. Stay as long as you’d like and call it a wrap when you’re ready.

Full transparency: we want to make a lifelong opera fan and evangelist out of you, but we’re excited to have you join us—even if it’s just this one foray.

Admission is free but space is limited. Reservations are required.
