Music by Rufus Wainwright Libretto by Daniel Maclvor Set at the end of the classical era, Hadrian tells the story of the Roman Emperor Hadrian and his profound grief at the death of his lover Antinous. Hadrian's relationship with Antinous, a young man in his entourage, was frowned upon by many in his inner circle.

Cincinnati Opera and CCM Opera's joint Opera Fusion: New Works program presents excerpts from Hadrian, a new opera composed by American-Candian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright. Set at the end of the classical era, Hadrian tells the story of the Roman emperor Hadrian (76-138 AD) and his love affair with Antinous.
