You will be permitted to change your list of repertoire by providing a current list at your audition.

John Lewis: Good Trouble (May 22 – June 20)
Performances: June 18 & 20, 2027
We are casting a chorus for John Lewis: Good Trouble, a biopic of the late John Lewis that draws deeply on the events he played a large part in, from the 1960s fight for civil rights to becoming an elder statesman in 2012. We are seeking artists who can authentically and respectfully represent the lived experiences and cultural perspectives of the characters in this work.
The Marriage of Figaro (June 14 – July 10)
Performances: July 8 & 10, 2027
Casting for supporting roles:
Don Curzio (tenor); Antonio (bass)
Viva Verdi!
Performance: June 25, 2027
Turandot (June 30 – August 2)
Performances: July 24, 30 & August 1, 2027
Casting for supporting roles:
The Prince of Persia (tenor); The Emperor Altoum (tenor)
Program Information
The Cincinnati Opera Chorus and supporting roles are paid, professional engagements under the jurisdiction of AGMA, the American Guild of Musical Artists.
Rehearsals for the 2027 Summer Festival will begin May 22, 2027, and run through August 1, 2027.
Compensation is provided per the hourly and performance rates outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with AGMA. Mainstage contracts are negotiated on either a weekly or per-performance basis.
Notes
Please select the dates most convenient for you. Singers from outside the Greater Cincinnati region are welcome and encouraged to audition; however, applicants should be aware that most chorus members and smaller mainstage roles tend to be cast locally. If you are unable to attend an in-person audition, please email us at auditions@cincinnatiopera.org and explain any special circumstance. We will do our best to accommodate!
