1. I’ve heard there’s a construction project across from Music Hall—what’s up?

Across the street from Music Hall is Washington Park, one of Cincinnati’s oldest and largest urban parks. You may recall that a gravel surface lot was at the north end of the park. Late last year, a major renovation of the park began that necessitated the closing of that lot. When the park reopens in spring 2012, it will include a 450-car below-ground garage and an expansion of the green space to 14th Street. You can read more about the renovation in the Opera’s 2011 program book.

2. Where do you recommend that I park for Opera performances?

You have many choices. In fact, there are more than 2,000 parking spaces within a few blocks of Music Hall. Please see the map above for these locations. Security personnel will be on hand to provide assistance as you walk to and from Music Hall.

3. Will there be shuttles?

Yes! Complimentary parking shuttles will be available to and from Music Hall beginning 90 minutes before each show and afterward for approximately one hour. Shuttles will run every 5-7 minutes, with stops at the Court Street Center lot (at the Turner Construction building, corner of Court and Elm Streets) and Music Hall.

4. What about handicapped-accessible parking?

There are 3 main options for patrons requiring accessible parking. In order of our best recommendation, they are as follows:

  • Patrons in need of wheelchair assistance can be dropped off at the curb in front of Music Hall. Event staff will be on hand to help patrons enter the building.
  • The parking shuttles (to and from the Court Street Center lot) are ADA-compliant with motorized lifts, and can accommodate up to two standard wheelchairs per trip.
  • Several handicapped-accessible parking spots are available at the Town Center Garage (also known as the CET Garage, directly behind Music Hall) and in nearby lots.

Please note that the lot between Music Hall and Memorial Hall is not available for public parking.

5. What’s your best advice?

  • Review the parking map and identify two options that will work for you.
  • Arrive early. We recommend arriving by 7 p.m. for evening performances and 2:30 p.m. for the Sunday matinee.
  • Have your cash ready. (We anticipate that parking will cost between $5 and $10.)
  • Use the shuttle or walk to Music Hall.
  • Enjoy the show!
  • Use a shuttle or walk back to your parking location.
