THE STORY He had only seen her picture, but he was already head-over-heels. Despite his fear of what was to come, he knew he had to find a way to save her. With a loyal friend by his side and a magical flute in hand, he put one foot in front of the other, ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
THE OPERA The Magic Flute was Mozart’s final opera, and it is also his most adored. It charms with its fantastical elements: a dashing hero and lovely princess, dragons and genies, an evil queen, and a happily-ever-after resolution. It’s the perfect opera to enjoy with friends and family.
THE CAST The lively cast will be led by soprano Nicole Cabell as Pamina, a singer who has been called “one of the most exciting lyric sopranos to grace the world’s concert halls” (Chicago Magazine). Tenor Shawn Mathey sings the role of her beloved Tamino, a role he has presented in Paris, Vienna, and Zurich. As the fearsome Queen of the Night is Audrey Luna, whose voice Opera News praised as having “power and a blazing coloratura facility that most lyric sopranos can only dream of.”
