Opera Redux: The Magic Flute

Cincinnati Opera is proud to present the community performances of its new family-friendly production, "Opera Redux: The Magic Flute.” This 50-minute version of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s classic opera follows Tamino and Papageno, two friends searching for true love. On their perilous journey, they meet Pamina, Papagena, and the Queen of the Night, and face many tests of their courage. In the end, they all discover the value of tolerance, tenacity, and friendship.
Set in a magical attic, this brand-new production features well-known songs from the opera, a charming young cast, and fantastic costumes. “Opera Redux: The Magic Flute” captures the best moments and music of Mozart’s masterpiece in a new work that is smart, fun, and accessible to all ages.
This new production stars rising young opera singers from around the country, including Stephanie Washington as Pamina, Gretchen Windt as Papagena, Melanie Woodruff as the Queen of the Night, Ian Ramirez as Tamino, and John Arnold as Papageno.
