­Cincinnati Opera and Allen Temple A.M.E. Church are pleased to announce the fifth annual Opera Goes to Church!™, a summer evening of gospel, jazz, and classical music. Since its inception in 2006, Opera Goes to Church!™ has been one of the most anticipated summer concert events in the community.  Enthusiastic audiences have continuously packed the house at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church for this unique and spirited musical experience.

The fifth annual Opera Goes to Church!™ will include the return of bass Morris Robinson, who portrayed the thundering Grand Inqu­isitor in Cincinnati Opera’s 2009 production of Don Carlo. The concert will also feature soaring soprano Jacqueline Echols, winner of the 2010 Corbett Award for opera, the Allen Temple A.M.E. Church Combined Choir under the direction of Robert Gazaway, The Christian Howes Jazz Quartet featuring piano and organ great Bobby Floyd, and the powerful young voice of Tyshawn Colquitt. News anchor Courtis Fuller will return as host for the evening.
