Take part in The Meistersinger Experience from the comfort of your home with audio and notes available online now!
For the first time in 30 years, Cincinnati Opera presents Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, a lighthearted love story centered around Germany’s master singers and their singing contests. The work is epic in every way—a huge all-star cast, an immense set, and thousands upon thousands of notes—all adding up to the most expensive production that Cincinnati Opera has ever produced. But beyond its scale, Meistersinger also has an artistic mystique of its own overflowing with symbolism and musical complexity, which has inspired curiosity by academics and opera fans alike. Evans Mirageas will lead a one-day Meistersinger “master class” exploring this grand piece.
