Otello: Was it Love or Control?

­Verdi’s opera Otello is about a ma­n who claims to have "loved not wisely, but too well." But, was it love that drove him to murder his wife, Desdem­ona, or a need for control? Panelists from the YWCA, University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will dissect the dynamics of the relationship between the ill-fated couple and the process of taking the characters from the page to the stage.
