This pretty woman had everything a girl could want–a lavish apartment in the City of Light, beautiful gowns and jewels, a social calendar full of engagements. She was a courtesan in 1850 Paris, flirting and toasting her way through life. And then, she met him. At first his cooings were harmless, even somewhat amusing. But before she knew it, his words pierced her heart, and she dared to hope. Maybe it wasn't too late for her.

This season, La Traviata makes its welcome return to Cincinnati Opera in a brand new, lavish production from the design team that brought you last season's stunning Aida.

Eglise Gutiérrez brings her "spellbinding performance–magnetic in presence, vibrant in voice" (Financial Times) to the role of Violetta. Her beloved Alfredo is the "warm lyrical, and expressive" (Cincinnati Post) audience favorite Richard Leech. Following up on his company debut as the Four Villains in The Tales of Hoffmann in 2006 is "one of the most formidable voices ever heard on this stage" (Cincinnati Enquirer), Philippe Rouillon returning as Germont.

Please note: Evening performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday matinee performance will begin at 3:00 p.m.
